Biography

Born August 21, 1962, Dylan Fitzpatrick grew up in Parkville, Maryland, just outside Baltimore. He spent eleven years on active duty in the United States Army as a field artillery forward observer, followed by ten years serving full-time with the Maryland National Guard as a military policeman. Following his retirement in 2014, Dylan began looking for a quieter place to enjoy the next chapter of his life.

During a visit to Falcon Hollow in 2017, Dylan found himself drawn to the town's small-town atmosphere and welcoming community. The following year, he purchased a two-story commercial building in the Riverwalk District, intending to open a neighborhood hobby shop specializing in model railroads, aircraft kits, military models, and art supplies. However, his extensive personal book collection soon filled much of the vacant storefront, inspiring a different business venture.

Recognizing that residents missed having a local bookstore following the closure of a former franchise location, Dylan opened the Falcon Hollow Bookshop. Today, the store offers new and used books alongside a smaller selection of hobby supplies. Dylan hopes to expand the business with a dedicated section showcasing local authors and writers, complementing the Falcon Hollow Public Library's growing interest in local literature.

Although somewhat reserved around strangers, Dylan becomes considerably more talkative once a conversation turns to a subject he enjoys. Known for his dry humor, friendly teasing, and occasional playful flirting, he takes particular pleasure in making people smile. A pot of coffee is almost always brewing at the bookshop, and local police officers are especially welcome to stop in for a free cup. Dylan has developed friendships throughout the community, but considers himself simply another resident enjoying life in Falcon Hollow.
