The Historic Falcon Hollow Railroad Station

Standing along the former rail corridor on the western edge of downtown, the Falcon Hollow Railroad Station has served as one of the town's most recognizable landmarks for more than a century.
The original Falcon Hollow Railroad Station was constructed by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1891 as part of the company's western Maryland branch operations. It helped connect rural Maryland communities to larger markets and cities, the station quickly became the center of commerce and travel in Falcon Hollow. Passenger trains, freight shipments, agricultural products, and local businesses all relied on the railroad during the town's early growth.
For decades, residents arrived and departed through the station, while local merchants depended on the railroad to bring goods and supplies into the community. As transportation patterns changed during the twentieth century, rail service gradually declined, and the station eventually closed.
Recognizing the building's historical significance, community leaders and preservation advocates worked to restore and protect the depot rather than allow it to be lost. Today, the station serves as the headquarters of the Falcon Hollow Historical Society, housing exhibits, archives, publications, and collections that preserve the history of the town and surrounding region.
Visitors to the station can explore exhibits, view historical photographs, research local history, and experience one of Falcon Hollow's most treasured landmarks.
