Biography

Karen Doyle Ellison was born and raised in Falcon Hollow as part of the family behind the Falcon Lodge, a local institution dating back to the 1940s. The lodge was a familiar part of her childhood, and Karen grew up understanding that running a family business meant far more than maintaining a building or renting rooms. It meant welcoming travelers, remembering returning guests, working long hours when necessary, and protecting something earlier generations of her family had worked to build.

As she grew older, Karen became increasingly involved in the operation of the lodge, learning the business through practical experience and gradually assuming greater responsibility. Her familiarity with both the property and the people who passed through it eventually made taking over its day-to-day operation a natural progression. Rather than dramatically changing the lodge, Karen has focused on maintaining its character while making the practical improvements necessary to keep a longtime family business viable.

Away from the lodge, Karen is a devoted mother whose life has included both difficult transitions and new beginnings. She is naturally empathetic and perceptive, often recognizing what someone needs without requiring them to explain it. At the same time, her independence can work against her; Karen has a tendency to take responsibility onto herself and continue working through problems rather than admitting when she could use help. Those qualities have made her both dependable and quietly stubborn. The original character profile particularly establishes her as resilient, protective, empathetic, practical, and reluctant to ask others for assistance. Karen Ellison

Today, Karen continues to operate the Falcon Lodge while raising her family in the town where she has spent her entire life. She values stability, routine, and the relationships that come from living and working in a community where generations of families know one another. Although the Doyle family name is part of the lodge’s history, Karen sees its future as her responsibility, carrying forward a business that has been part of both her family and Falcon Hollow for more than eighty years.
