Biography
Born and raised in Falcon Hollow, Thomas “Tom” Kessler developed an early appreciation for the town's close-knit community and the importance of locally owned businesses. Growing up, he became familiar with many of the merchants and establishments that formed the backbone of the local economy. Tom was never particularly interested in pursuing a career behind a desk, preferring practical work that kept him active and involved with people. His approachable personality and willingness to take on responsibility eventually led him into the beverage distribution industry, where he gained experience in warehouse operations, deliveries, purchasing, and customer service. Over time, he developed the knowledge and business relationships that would help him establish himself as an independent operator.
As owner of Mill Road Beverage Supply, Tom oversees a business responsible for supplying beverages to restaurants, taverns, and other commercial customers throughout Falcon Hollow and the surrounding area. His responsibilities include managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, maintaining supplier relationships, and supervising the employees who keep the operation running. Although the business has grown over the years, Tom remains actively involved in its daily operations and is frequently found checking deliveries, speaking with customers, or walking through the warehouse. He believes that a successful business depends as much on dependable employees and strong customer relationships as it does on the products being sold.
Tom's management style reflects his belief in fairness, accountability, and second chances. He enjoys joking with employees and generally maintains a relaxed atmosphere, but he expects everyone to take their responsibilities seriously. Safety, professionalism, and reliability are particularly important in a business that depends on commercial deliveries. When problems arise, Tom prefers direct conversations and practical solutions rather than unnecessary confrontation. He is willing to help employees through difficult circumstances, provided they accept responsibility for their decisions and demonstrate a genuine effort to improve. His combination of compassion and firm expectations has earned him respect among those who work for him.
Beyond his business, Tom is an enthusiastic supporter of Falcon Hollow's community events, particularly the town's annual Oktoberfest celebration. Each year, he works alongside Gretchen Stark of Stark Brauhaus to co-sponsor the festival's Biergarten, arranging a special shipment of German beers that are not normally available through his business during the rest of the year. Their longstanding partnership has developed into an easy friendship, often accompanied by good-natured jokes about the competition between locally brewed selections and imported German favorites. For Tom, Oktoberfest is an opportunity to share his enthusiasm for the beverage industry while contributing to one of Falcon Hollow's oldest traditions. Despite the demands of running Mill Road Beverage Supply, he remains a familiar and approachable presence throughout the community.
