Falcon Lodge

History of Falcon Lodge

Constructed in 1940 as a modest fishing lodge, Falcon Lodge quickly became a destination for weekend visitors from Maryland and Pennsylvania seeking quiet lakeside recreation. The Doyle family expanded the lodge in the 1970s, adding additional guest rooms and a wraparound deck overlooking Falcon Lake.

Over time the lodge became known for:

• lakeside weddings
• family reunions
• fall foliage retreats
• its annual Mother’s Day Banquet

Its reputation as a welcoming community space made it one of the most recognizable landmarks in Falcon Hollow.

Falcon Lodge and the Community

More than simply a place to stay, Falcon Lodge has long served as a gathering place for Falcon Hollow residents. Many locals have celebrated milestones there — anniversaries, graduations, and family reunions — while visiting fishermen often use the lodge as their base during hunting and fishing season.

The lodge’s deck and dock have also become familiar sights for early-morning coffee drinkers and evening lake watchers.

Present Status

Although Falcon Lodge remains one of Falcon Hollow’s most recognizable lakeside landmarks, the events of 2024 cast a long shadow over the property. For a time the rear deck remained closed while investigations concluded.

The lodge continues to stand as a symbol of both Falcon Hollow’s traditions and the resilience of the community.
