Life in Falcon Hollow

Everyday moments, small-town traditions, and the stories that grow between them.

Life in Falcon Hollow moves at the pace of a front-porch conversation. Kids ride bikes around the square, shopkeepers sweep their sidewalks before opening, and somebody always seems to know whose truck that is parked by the Riverwalk after dark. This page gathers the rhythms of the town—the festivals, routines, and quiet rituals that shape the world of the Duke Mantz mysteries.

Annual WinterFest

A Year in the Town

  • Spring on Main
    March – May
Flower baskets and open storefronts, parade days and Saturday mornings along the Riverwalk welcome Falcon Hollow back outdoors as the town comes alive for spring.

  • Summer at the Lake
    Memorial Day – Labor Day
Fishing mornings and fireworks, lakeside concerts, picnics, and long summer evenings bring Falcon Hollow to the water throughout its favorite summer tradition.

  • Autumn in the Hollow
    September – October
Football nights and changing leaves, Oktoberfest in the Commons, pumpkins, and Halloween traditions fill Falcon Hollow as summer gives way to the colors and celebrations of fall.

  • Winterfest
    November – February
Frost and firelight, holiday markets and the annual tree lighting welcome the season, while snowy-day activities and warm gatherings carry Falcon Hollow through the coldest months of the year.

Around Town

  • Main Street – Brick storefronts, striped awnings, and hand-painted signs. If you need gossip, advice, or a good sandwich, this is where you start.

  • The Lakefront – Families during the day, fishermen at dawn, and the occasional patrol car after midnight when something feels off.

  • Neighborhoods – Porches with rocking chairs, mailboxes that have seen better days, and backyards where the smell of barbecue carries half a block.

  • The Old Roads – Narrow county lanes leading to hunting cabins, forgotten cemeteries, and more than one of Duke Mantz’s toughest cases.
