Mayor Dylan Sumner serves as the fictional mayor of Falcon Hollow within the Falcon Hollow Mysteries story world.

Dylan Sumner –
Mayor Dylan Sumner has served Falcon Hollow with the same steady, good-humored presence he’s brought to the community his entire life. Born and raised in western Maryland, Dylan grew up in a family that believed in showing up — for neighbors, for the town, and for the responsibilities that make small-town life work. A former volunteer firefighter and later a logistics coordinator for regional public works, Dylan understands both the people and the practical systems that keep Falcon Lake running.

Elected mayor in 2022, Dylan is known for his approachable leadership style, his open-door policy at Town Hall, and his belief that Falcon Hollow’s character is built on the quiet, everyday actions of its residents. Whether he’s helping set up chairs for the Farmers Market, stopping to chat with shop owners on Cedar Street, or walking the lakefront trail with a cup of strong black coffee, Dylan remains a familiar and grounding presence.
He lives just outside the town circle with his wife, Erin, and their rescue dog, Copper. When he’s not at Town Hall, you’ll likely find him tinkering with an old fishing skiff he swears he’ll finish “one of these summers.”

A Message from Mayor Dylan Sumner
Town of Falcon Hollow, Maryland
Welcome to Falcon Hollow — a community shaped by history, warmed by tradition, and kept strong by the people who call it home.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning after many years away, I hope you’ll feel what we feel every day: that Falcon Hollow is more than a dot on the map. It’s a place where the lights in the shop windows glow a little softer, where neighbors wave before they remember your name, and where every storefront on Main Street holds a story.
Our town was built from simple beginnings — sawdust-covered workbenches, early-morning storefront deliveries, and the steady rhythm of lake water against the docks. That spirit still lives here. You’ll find it in our businesses, our departments, our festivals, and in the easy conversations that start up just about anywhere.
As Mayor, I’m proud of the work we’re doing to preserve what makes Falcon Hollow special while preparing for the future with care and intention. But the true heartbeat of this town isn’t found at Town Hall — it’s found in the people who give their time, lend their hands, and keep the spirit of welcome alive.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know Falcon Hollow. I hope your visit — whether online or in person — feels like a step into a place that remembers what community truly means.
Warmly,
Mayor Dylan Sumner
