Falcon Hollow Origins - Duke Mantz

The Making of a Detective

Overview

Before Falcon Hollow knew him as Detective Duke Mantz, he was Travis—a boy whose life was shaped by family, loss, and the people who helped him find his way.

This novel follows his journey from childhood through military service and his return to Falcon Hollow, where he begins a new career in law enforcement.

Context

Falcon Hollow Origins explores the lives of familiar characters before the events of the Falcon Hollow Mysteries.

As the first Origins novel, Duke Mantz: The Making of a Detective reveals the experiences and relationships that shaped the series’ central detective. It provides a deeper understanding of Duke’s past while standing on its own as a story of family, service, and finding a place to call home.

The Record

Long before he wore a detective’s badge, Travis Mantz was a boy learning about life from his father.

His journey takes him from the baseball field and the loss of someone he loves through military service, marriage, and the difficult choices that eventually bring him home.

In Falcon Hollow, Travis begins building a new future in law enforcement, carrying the lessons of his past into the work that will define him as Detective Duke Mantz.
